Is there any importance of Republic day for Sikhs?

Post:- 001.

Black day 26th January

Our leaders unanimously took the decision to join India in 1947 though the demand of a separate Sikh nation had been raised by eminent leaders of that time.

First demand of Khalistan

But what India returned us other than betrayals, attack on religious places and attempts to eliminate Sikhs in India twice in just one year 1984?

The discrimination with Sikhs started before independence only but being nearer to Hindu religion and good faith on Nehru and Gandhi, Our Sikh leaders like Baldev Singh,of that time couldn’t foresee the wickedness of these leaders of Congress. When Jinnah demanded Pakistan before British in London in early 47, Jinnah warned the Sikh leader S. Baldev Singh ji too, either demand for a separete nation or join Pakistan and he proposed 60%-40% in Pakistan parliament and all Govt. jobs . He also warned that these Hindu leaders will betray with Sikhs one day so it would be in the interest of Sikhs to raise their demand and to accept his proposal. He warned Baldev Singh of betrayal by Hindu leaders but Baldev Singh ignored it. Alas ! had he given an ear to Jinnah, History would have been different.

On that night, Baldev Singh disclosed this secret with Nehru. The first thing Nehru did in the morning, he took the first flight to Delhi and brought Baldev Singh back to Delhi so that he may not accept the offer of Jinnah or demand a separate nation for Sikhs.

We Sikhs sacrificed maximum in freedom struggle of India. Being only 1.5% of total population of United India we sacrificed 93% overall. See the records as below;

The contribution of Sikhs in India’s freedom struggle can not be ignored. Hindus may form majority in this nation but their own contribution in it’s freedom struggle was very low, almost outnumbered, this is a bitter truth which was also accepted by the ruling Congress party published in it’s magazine. This was published by Maulana Abul Kalaam Azad. (Book source: “History of Indian National Congress” )

Before independence a constitution committee was formed under the presidentship of Dr. Rajender Parsad, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was also a member of that committee.  This committee is said to be the committee, which wrote the Indian constitution and which was implemented on 26th January 1950 in India but the members of this committee, too betrayed with Sikhs with the consent of Dr. Ambedkar. It submerged the Sikh religion in Hinduism and declared it as a sect of Hindu religion.

The definition of a Sikh in Article25 (b):– it defines Sikhs as Keshadhari Hindus. Thus now the Sikhs had become Hindu constitutionally. Their sovereignty and independent status was snatched from them. Now all their lives were controlled by Hindu acts, their marriages, their divorces, the adoptability of child etc. were all taken under control of Hindu religion.

The members of the Drafting Committee of the Constitution of India.

The Drafting Committee for framing the constitution was appointed on 29 August 1947, The committee comprised of a chairman and six other members. In addition a constitutional advisor was also appointed.

The committee members were:

Dr B. R. Ambedkar – Chairman

K M Munshi (Ex- Home Minister, Bombay)

Alladi Krishnaswamy Iyer (Ex- Advocate General, Madras State)

N Gopalaswami Ayengar (Ex-Prime Minister, J&K, member of Nehru Cabinet)

B L Mitter (Ex-Advocate General, India)

Md. Saadullah (Ex- Chief Minister of Assam, Muslim League member)

D P Khaitan (lawyer).

Sir Benegal Narsing Rau was appinted as the constitutional advisor. He later became First Indian Judge in International Court of Justice in 1950.

See right from the beginning Sikhs were not given a separate status by these majority Hindus of this nation. Out of these seven members, one is from Muslim league and represent Muslims but there was no one to represent Sikh views in this committee.
Than there was Bhimrao Ambedkar who was from scheduled cast. Unfortunately he too fulfilled wishes of Brahminical society and is responsible to include Sikhs in manifolds of Hindu religion and by declaring them as KESHADHARI HNDUS.

Before this Ambedkar had made an unsuccessful attempt to embrace Sikh religion along with his fifty hundred thousand believers but due to some differences with management of Harmandar sahib and Akali leaders, he changed his mind and embraced Buddhism. In my opinion by embracing Buddhism, he remained a hindu as Baudh religion is completely submerged in Hindu religion. It has no separate identity now.

It seems that Ambedkar thus took avenge from Sikh leaders by merging Sikh religion, declaring them as part of Hindu religion by accepting their distinct identity as KESHADHARI HINDUS but all other rights of them were taken away like adoption, marriage, transfer of property etc as per Hindu religion.

I can dare to say it was Bhimrao Ambedkar who as being a chairman of this drafting committee jeopqrdized with Sikhs and we are compelled to be known as part of Hindu religion.

So the wise Sikhs and intelligentia of Sikh nation do not celebrate Republic day as we feel cheated, jeopardized and backstabbed of mutual trust in India by govt. of India. In protest we call it a BLACK DAY IN SIKH HISTORY.

Every Sikh may feel free to express his views and share in comments here.
